Welcome to PNA MAY - JUNE version of the STAFF NEWSLETTER.
PNA Management would like to take this opportunity to farewell one of our long staying Personal Carers/Assistant Nurse, Jenny Rintala. Jenny is taking on Retirement as of mid June and will be greatly missed by all that have worked with her both within PNA and at the various facilities she has worked at over the past 8 years.
Jo and I wish Jenny the best with her Retirement Venture and hope that it is long and enjoyable.
As you are all aware is that your Work Dockets need to be at the PNA Office by 9am each Monday.
It is desired that the Work Dockets be emailed directly to either Jo via email@example.com OR Teagan via firstname.lastname@example.org so that dockets are checked and your pay can be processed.
The majority of Staff do not have an issue with ensuring that the requirement for Work Dockets is complied with as per the PNA Procedures Manual. However there is a small amount of staff who Jo or Teagan have had to contact via email or telephone on a regular basis. As of early May the Office Staff will NO LONGER be chasing people for their Work Dockets, if you cannot comply as required we will omit the shift from your pay until the required docket is received.
To prevent this action occurring simply take a photo of your Work Docket each shift on your mobile phone and email it directly to Jo or Teagan and they will mark it off the data base.
Work Docket Books can be picked up at anytime from the letterbox outside the PNA Office. PNA do not post these Docket Books out anymore due to the increased costs imposed by Australia Post and the reliability of delivery has changed so much.
ALL Staff are being emailed a Monthly Availability for approximately 2 weeks prior to the following month. This form is your responsibility to complete and return to Jo via email email@example.com or General Mail. Due to the drop in use of faxes anymore this service has been withdrawn from the PNA Office.
If you are NOT sure what shifts you wish to work for the whole month, you can speak with Jo over the telephone and arrange to supply your Availability a week at a time. However this is your responsibility and if the PNA Office do not have an Availability we deem this as you are not Available until you notify the PNA Office otherwise.
If you are interested in undertaking additional shifts, such as a short morning and then going back for an evening shift, it your responsibility to let Jo or Teagan know that you are interested to do this if shifts become available (there is no guarantee of it occurring each time).
All of you would be aware that the Government is working to keep people with Disabilities and Older people in their home as long as possible. To do this there has become a big demand in Support for various levels of Nursing, Care and Support Staff to ensure that this occurs.
Recently PNA had a meeting with the Regional NDIS Coordinators as they have had major issues with some of the other agencies undertaking this work and they had received glowing reports from the family of a client we have been looking after for the past 12 months.
During the course of the meeting PNA were asked if we were prepared to take on a number of other clients who require assistance in Domestic, Personal and Socialisation on a regular basis in the Yass, Gunning, Murrumbateman and Queanbeyan areas.
As a result of this meeting PNA have already commenced a Recruitment Program. If you maybe interested in undertaking some of this style of work in the Community please contact the PNA Office so that we can discuss the entitlements and what is involved and then put you on the list of suitable Nurses or Carers.
When NDIS notify PNA that a particular client requiring assistance then the PNA Office will contact the most suitable people to meet with the prospective client and their family.
